The Dunblane Likhubula Partnership links Dunblane in Scotland
and Likhubula, a rural community in the Mulanje district of Malawi, for
projects focusing on health, nutrition and education. You can read about
the development of the Partnership here.
What's Happening...
Mary's Meals
So far the Partnership has raised over £28,000 for Marys Meals
in Malawi, surpassing the original target of providing a basic meal for
the children of Nansato School every day for 3 years. We have now extended
this to 5 years. Donations are ongoing.
Likhubula Visit
A group of 12 from Dunblane Scotland,
including 5 young people, visited Likhubula in June 2008. The visitors'

The aims of this visit include:
- Strengthen the Partnership
- Focus on Education
- Explore new partnership between Dunblane High
School and Chambe Secondary School
- Look at local health issues
- Water engineering and maintenance /sanitation
issues
- Horticultural developments
- Look at ways to improve communication.
New Company Launched!!
Dunblane-Likhubula Link is
now a registered Charity, number SC038877. Donations can now be made under
the gift aid scheme whereby the charity recovers tax paid on the sum donated.
Water Project Update
The water and sanitation project has now been completed
with wells or piped water now available in all parts of the village. We
still need to look at ways of improving household sanitation.
Nansato Nursery now completed!

Umodzi Newsletter
The Umodzi newsletter is produced in Malawi, edited and designed
by Kondwani H. Chamwala for the Likhubula-Dunblane Partnership. Each issue
contains many photographs and features on the Partnership's projects in
English and Chichewa. The latest edition of Umodzi (which means
'Unity') can now be downloaded in PDF form by clicking here.
You can still download the previous edition here.
(Each issue is a file of about 450KB which will take 3 minutes or so to
download over a dial-up link. But it's worth the wait!)
